After growing up just a few hours from Townsville in the sleepy outback community of Charters Towers (of The Towers for short), Brendan ‘Sleepy’ Gillott, discovered dance music at a afterparty one night at a mates who had just got decks... As he exclusively tells lushfm.com.au, “It’s a pretty random story how I got into dj’ing, one night I ended up at a mates house (Rhett Ashman) who just got decks and after listening to him and how he was taking songs and recreating with his own influence I was hooked.”
